Nov. 8, 2017: Here are a few more really nice pieces of news to pass along. First up, a couple of interviews of me.

The first is by Amy Gigi Alexander, a well-known travel writer and Editor-in-Chief of Panorama: The Journal of Intelligent Travel, as part of her wonderfully titled “Meet the Makers” series of interviews with various authors. I’m honored to be in this company! Participating in this was a real treat for me. “Meet the Makers: Jeff Fearnside”

The second is by the Santa Fe Writers Project, which is running a series on past winners of its annual literary awards contest. Many thanks to Anne Pinkerton for asking great questions and to judge Ayun Halliday, Andrew Gifford, and the SFWP for recognizing my work. “Q & A with Jeff Fearnside: Omnivorous with Inspiration”

I’m also pleased to post another review of my book, written by Laura Citino for The Coil—the review is very well written and really digs into some of the stories. Thank you Ms. Citino and editor Leah Angstman!

And I have a short story, “In Borrowed Light,” appearing in the forthcoming summer/fall print issue of North Dakota Quarterly (galleys have already been approved) and five poems accepted for a future issue of ISLE: Interdisciplinary Studies in Literature and Environment (I’ll post more info on these when they appear).

June 8, 2017: The new year is steaming toward its halfway point, and there is much to catch up on! Coverage of my short-story collection Making Love While Levitating Three Feet in the Air has been quite widespread for a small-press book and, happily, super positive!

Beth Castrodale’s review of the full collection for Small Press Picks can be found here.

John Burroughs’ review of the full collection for Midwest Book Review can be found here.

Beth Osborne’s review of the full collection for SFWP Quarterly can be found here.

Elizabeth Lowe’s review of the full collection for Small Press Book Review can be found here.

And Dan Wickett’s review of the story “Going for Broke” for the Emerging Writers Network can be found here.

A nice interview of me was also posted on the Emerging Writers Network website for National Short Story Month. I’m honored to have participated with so many other talented writers! All the other interviews are worth checking out as well.

Here are a couple of other fun tidbits to pass along:

The online journal Monkeybicycle ran a really cool feature on my short-story collection as part of their popular “If My Book” series (which you can find here) in which authors compare their books to any number of unusual things. This was a lot of fun!

Finally, I’m pleased to announce that Credo: An Anthology of Manifestos and Sourcebook for Creative Writing, which includes a piece from yours truly, will be published on March 7, 2018 by C&R Press! Editors Rita Banerjee and Diana Norma Szokolyai have put together a terrific lineup of work by Kazim Ali, John Guzlowski, David Shields, Nicole Walker, Allyson Whipple, Matthew Zapruder, and many other fine writers, an original mix of creative writing manifestos, essays on the craft of writing, and creative writing exercises. (My piece falls into the “manifestos” category.) I’m definitely looking forward to seeing this in print!
